Standard Fields and Custom Fields
In ForceManager, fields are a series of values that appear in the system and are used to record all the information in the database. There are two types of fields:
Standard Fields
These are the fields that appear by default in the system. As their name suggests, these fields have been standardised using commercial vocabulary. For example, when creating a company, a series of fields appear by default: “company name,” “type of company,” “rating,” “responsible person,” etc.
Extra or Custom Fields
Since not all companies work the same way, you have the option to add extra fields so that the application can best adapt to each sales process. Therefore, these are all the fields that do not appear in the application by default but can be created based on the specific needs of your business.
How Does the Fields Menu Work?
Access and Viewing Fields
From the Fields menu, you can create and manage the standard and custom fields in ForceManager.
When you access the Fields menu, you will see at the top all the menus that have customisable fields: Companies, Contacts, Opportunities, Activities, Events and Tasks, etc.
Viewing Structure
By default, you will first see the information about the Companies menu and all its fields.
The fields are ordered as they appear in the application: standard fields at the top and extra or custom fields at the bottom.
Field Ordering and Grouping
Standard fields cannot be reordered. However, fields created for each implementation can be reordered and, if desired, grouped into tabs.
Editing and Hiding Fields
Standard fields can be hidden but not deleted. If you want to edit the name (literal) of a standard field, go to the Literals menu.

What Does the Fields Menu Allow?
1. Filtering Fields
To filter, click on the button
A dropdown will open on the right side of the screen where you can filter by:
• Description: Filter by the descriptive name of the field. It is case-insensitive.
• BD Name: Filter by the field name in the database.
• Field Type: Standard or extra field.
• Tab: If you have tabs, you can filter and see the list of fields grouped under the same tab. You can only select one tab at a time.
• Read-only
• Visible
• Mandatory
• Dynamic Field
• Environment
You can clear any applied filter by clicking on the button at the top of the filter dropdown.
You can apply filters and navigate through the different entities without needing to filter again as they remain applied.
2. Managing Fields
To do this, hover over the field you want to manage and you will see three options:
• Edit (standard and extra fields)
• Duplicate (extra fields). The basic data will be copied to avoid creating multiple fields with the same characteristics.
• Delete (extra fields)
3. Creating Tabs and Custom Fields
