What is News Manager?

News Manager is a module in Sage Sales Management designed to enhance internal communication within a company. This feature enables businesses to share important updates efficiently, ensuring that messages are received, read, and understood by the sales team.

With News Manager, team leaders can send announcements and track their status, ensuring that critical communications reach the intended audience and are acknowledged.

Key Benefits of News Manager

  • Efficient communication: Deliver critical messages quickly and directly to the sales team.

  • Tracking and confirmation: Monitor who has received, opened, and confirmed the messages.

  • User-friendly interface: Manage messages easily, similar to an email system.

  • Accessibility: Available on both desktop and mobile versions of Sage Sales Management.

How to Use News Manager

Creating and Sending Messages

News Manager is available only in the web version of Sage Sales Management. To send messages, follow these steps:

  1. Access the News Manager

    • Navigate to the News Manager section in the main menu.

    • Click on the "Published" tab to view all active messages.

  2. Create a New Message

    • Click the "Add" button in the top-right corner.

    • Enter the required information:

      • Title: Clearly describe the message’s purpose.

      • Recipients: Select the teams or individuals who should receive the message.

      • Content: Write the message details.

      • Attachments (if needed): Drag and drop files to include additional documents or images.

  3. Preview and Send

    • Review the message in the preview window.

    • If everything is correct, click "Send" to distribute the message.

Monitoring Message Status

After sending a message, News Manager provides real-time tracking of its status:

  • Opened: Who has opened the message.

  • Read: Who has viewed the full content.

  • Confirmed: Who has acknowledged and confirmed understanding.

If a recipient has not opened the message, they will receive an automatic reminder every 24 hours until they read it.

How Recipients View and Confirm Messages

News notifications appear on both web and mobile versions of Sage Sales Management.

Web Version

  • Users receive an email notification and an in-app alert when they log in.

  • They can read messages immediately or return to them later in the News Manager section.

Mobile Version

  • Users receive a pop-up notification displaying the subject and part of the message content.

  • They can read and confirm the message immediately.

  • If they postpone reading, a persistent notification will appear on the dashboard until the message is read.

Once a user opens and confirms a message on one device, it will be automatically marked as read on all other devices.

Managing News and Resending Messages

Can I Send Messages to a Single User?

Currently, News Manager is designed for group communications rather than direct messages to individual users.

What If I Need to Correct a Message?

If an error is found in a message after sending, you can resend it with updated information. The original message will be replaced, and previous tracking data will reset.

Steps to Resend a Message

  1. Click on the message you want to update.

  2. A summary panel will appear on the right side, displaying its status (opened, confirmed, etc.).

  3. In the top-right corner, click the resend icon.

  4. Edit the message and send the corrected version.

  • If a recipient has not yet opened the original message, they will only see the updated version.

  • If they have already opened it, they will find the new version the next time they check the message.
