Mailchimp is a marketing automation platform that enables users to create, manage, and send email campaigns to segmented contact lists.
With the Sage Sales Management integration, you can:
✅ Export customer and prospect data to Mailchimp lists.
✅ Create new lists directly from Sage Sales Management.
✅ Analyse campaign impact on each company, tracking who received, opened, or interacted with the emails.
How to integrate Mailchimp with Sage Sales Management?
📌 Only administrators can configure the integration.
To connect Mailchimp with Sage Sales Management, follow these steps:
Access your profile in Sage Sales Management.
Go to the "Third-party integrations" section and select Mailchimp.
Fill in the required fields in the form.
A Mailchimp login window will open. Enter your credentials and authorise the integration.
💡 Note: If you are already logged into Mailchimp with another user, the integration will automatically link to that account. Make sure to log out and log back in with the Mailchimp administrator account before starting the process.
Managing the integration
Once the integration is activated, you can:
✅ Monitor the integration status and verify that updates are working correctly.
✅ Manage authorised users, allowing specific users to export contacts and companies to Mailchimp.
✅ Check the "Blacklist", which includes contacts who do not receive emails due to opt-outs or invalid addresses.
✅ Export the "Blacklist" to a file for external reference.
✅ Disable the integration at any time. Note that if you do so, all Mailchimp-related information in Sage Sales Management will be deleted.
How to create lists in Mailchimp from Sage Sales Management?
Once the integration is set up, you can create contact lists in Mailchimp directly from Sage Sales Management.
Steps to create lists
Go to the Companies menu and apply the necessary filters to segment your contacts.
Click on "Options" and select "Export to Mailchimp".
A pop-up window will appear, showing the number of records that match the applied filters. (Only contacts with an email address will be displayed).
Select the data to export:
Only companies
Only contacts
Both companies and contacts
Click "Next" and choose:
Create a new list in Mailchimp.
Add contacts to an existing Mailchimp list.
Finalise the process by clicking "Export".
📌 Your contacts will now be available in Mailchimp for campaign management.

Viewing results within each company
Each company's profile now includes a Mailchimp widget, where you can see:
✅ A list of campaigns sent to the company’s contacts.
✅ Interactions, including who received, opened, or clicked on the email.
✅ Delivery errors for specific contacts.
Activity logging in Sage Sales Management
All interactions from Mailchimp campaigns are recorded in the Activities menu and within the company activity widget.
Tracked actions include:
Email opens
Link clicks
Bounced emails (undelivered emails)
Unsubscribes from mailing lists
Types of email bounces
🔴 Hard bounce: Permanent delivery failure, usually due to:
Non-existent email address.
Incorrect domain.
Server restrictions on the recipient's side.
🟠 Soft bounce: Temporary delivery issue, often caused by:
Full mailbox.
The recipient’s email server being down.
