Before you start
Before creating a campaign, make sure that:
your domain has been verified;
at least one sender has been configured;
your recipients have a Subscribed Marketing Status;
you have an email template or design ready to use.
Access the Campaigns module
Go to:
Campaigns → Campaigns
From this section, you can:
create new campaigns;
edit existing campaigns;
view campaign analytics;
review delivery statuses;
manage draft campaigns.
Create a new campaign
The campaign creation process is divided into four key stages.
Throughout the process, the system displays status indicators to help you complete each section.
Configure the sender
The first step is to select the sending identity.
Choose:
sender name;
sender email address;
Reply-To email address.
The sender must be associated with a previously verified domain.
If you still need to verify your domain or configure a sender, see the related articles in this collection.
Select recipients
The campaign will only send emails to records whose Marketing Status is:
Subscribed
You can select recipients from:
Accounts;
Contacts;
filtered segments;
specific audiences.
The system automatically excludes:
unsubscribed records;
records without marketing consent;
invalid email addresses.
Configure the subject and preview text
Email subject
The subject is the main text recipients will see in their inbox.
Examples:
Discover our latest promotions
What’s new in Sage Sales Management
Exclusive offer for our customers
Use clear and engaging subject lines to improve your open rate.
Preview text
The preview text is the additional text displayed alongside the subject line in many email clients before the recipient opens the message.
It provides extra context about the email content.
Example:
“Smart Assistant, automation and new features for your sales team.”
Design the email
You can create your email using:
an existing template;
the visual editor;
the HTML editor.
You can also reuse previously created campaigns or templates.
Send a test email
Before sending your campaign, it is recommended that you send a test email.
The Preview and test option allows you to:
review links;
verify images;
check dynamic variables;
validate the responsive layout;
identify potential content issues.
Sending a test email helps prevent issues before sending the campaign to all recipients.
Send the campaign
When everything is ready:
Review the campaign settings.
Check the recipients and subject.
Select Send.
The system will automatically begin sending the campaign.
Unsubscribing
All campaigns automatically include a legally required unsubscribe link.
When a recipient chooses to stop receiving communications:
their Marketing Status is updated automatically;
they will no longer receive future campaigns.
This process helps ensure regulatory compliance and removes the need for manual updates.
Campaign statuses
During its lifecycle, a campaign can display different statuses:
Draft, while the campaign is being prepared.
Scheduled, when the campaign is planned to be sent at a specific date and time.
Sending, while the system is processing the delivery.
Sent, once the campaign has been successfully delivered.
These statuses make it easy to monitor the progress of your campaign.
Best practices
To improve the performance of your campaigns:
use clear and concise subject lines;
segment recipients appropriately;
always send a test campaign;
review links and dynamic variables;
avoid overly complex email designs;
schedule campaigns for the most appropriate sending times.
Common issues
Some recipients do not receive the email
Check that:
the contact has a Subscribed Marketing Status;
the email address is valid;
the sending domain has been verified.
The campaign cannot be sent
Verify that:
a sender has been configured;
all required sections have been completed;
the email design has been saved correctly.
Dynamic variables appear empty
This can happen if:
the contact does not have data available for that variable;
the variable has not been configured correctly.
Marketing and sales recommendations
A well-configured campaign helps you to:
improve engagement;
increase open and click rates;
reduce sending errors;
create more relevant communications;
support more effective commercial follow-up.
