Overview
Domain authentication is the first mandatory step when setting up Marketing Campaigns.
During this process, you will work in two environments:
Sage Sales Management → where you generate the records
Your domain provider (DNS) → where you configure them
Key concepts before you start
DNS (Domain Name System): It works like the “phonebook” of the internet. It tells where traffic for your domain should be directed.
Domain/DNS provider: This is the company where you purchased your domain (e.g. GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Arsys, Ionos). This is where you will make the required changes.
CNAME record: A type of DNS record used to “digitally sign” your emails.
TTL (Time To Live): Indicates how long it takes for DNS changes to be updated across the internet. A lower value (such as 1 hour) allows faster propagation.
Before you start
Make sure that:
You have access to your domain’s DNS settings
You know who your domain provider is
The domain matches your sender email
Example:
If you send emails from info@yourcompany.com, your domain is yourcompany.com
Step-by-step
1. Add your domain
Go to:
Campaigns → Settings → Domain authentication
Click “Add domain” and enter your domain.
2. Generate DNS records
Click “Obtain DNS records”
EThe system will automatically generate 3 CNAME records. Each one includes:
Name
Value
These values are unique to your domain. You will need to copy them and paste them later into your domain provider’s DNS settings.
3. Access your DNS provider
Open a new tab in your browser and log in to your domain provider.
Look for a section such as:
DNS management
DNS zone settings
4. Add the records
Create the 3 records using the values generated:
For each record:
Select the type → CNAME or TXT
Copy the Name
Paste it into the “Host” or “Name” field
Copy the Value
Paste it into the “Value” or “Points to” field
Leave the TTL (Time to Live) as default
5. Save changes
Click “Save” or “Confirm” in your domain provider.
6. Check the status
Go back to Sage Sales Management.
Your domain will appear as:
Pending
⏱ Propagation time
DNS propagation is the time required for the changes made to your DNS records to be updated and applied across servers worldwide.
DNS updates are not immediate.
Once you have added and saved your records, return to Sage Sales Management and check the status of your domain:
Open the domain options (usually in the top right corner or in a three-dot menu)
Click “Update status”
Typical timing:
Usually: a few hours
Maximum: 24–48 hours
If the status is still “Pending” in Sage Sales Management, please wait and try again later.
7. Domain verified
Once everything is correct, the status will change to Verified, and you will be ready to send campaigns.
Common errors
Adding the full domain in the Name field (when the provider already adds it automatically)
Mixing up Name and Value
Not saving the DNS changes
Using a domain that does not match the sender email
⚠️ Multiple domains
If you use multiple domains (for example):
@company.com
@shop-company.com
You must verify each one separately.
⚠️Múltiples dominios
Si utilizas varios dominios (por ejemplo):
@empresa.com
@tienda-empresa.com
