What is the Opportunity Funnel?

The Opportunity Funnel in Sage Sales Management visually represents (in a funnel shape) the number of opportunities that have progressed or are currently at each stage of the sales process. Its goal is to show the percentage of opportunities that move from one stage to another until they are won or lost.

In addition to the funnel, this chart provides essential insights to evaluate the effectiveness of the sales process.


Information displayed in the Opportunity Funnel

Top section of the chart:

  • Average sales cycle: The average number of days for won opportunities (from creation to closure).

  • Conversion rate: Percentage of opportunities that have progressed from the first stage to the "won" stage.

  • Average deal value: The median value of won opportunities.

Bottom section of the chart:

  • Stagnant opportunities: Number of opportunities created within the selected period and managed by the assigned users that have recorded no activity in the last 30 days, either in the opportunity itself or the associated company.

  • Lost opportunities: The total number of opportunities that have been closed as lost.


Objective of the Opportunity Funnel

The funnel helps identify areas for improvement and detect weak points in the sales process, particularly the stages where the most opportunities are lost. With this insight, sales teams can reallocate efforts and resources to improve conversion rates and optimise the process through to closing deals.


Detailed Analysis of the Funnel

Each bar in the funnel represents a stage in the sales pipeline. To conduct a deeper analysis of each phase, simply click on the relevant bar.

Upon selection, Sage Sales Management will automatically redirect the user to the Opportunities menu, where filtered data corresponding to the selected figure in the chart will be displayed.


Important Note

Regardless of the currency in which the opportunities were created, amounts will be displayed in the currency configured for the user logged into Sage Sales Management.
