What is a product?
In Sage Sales Management, a product is a good or service that you can sell to your customers.
From the Products menu, you can browse your catalogue, search for products, and view details such as the name, description, price, and category.
How to browse and filter the catalogue
You can browse the catalogue in two views:
List: displays products in rows.
Cards: displays products as cards with their images.
Both views show information such as price and stock without opening the product record.
To find a product, you can:
Use the search.
Select a product family from the menu on the left.
Apply the filters at the top based on product attributes.
What information does a product record contain?
Select a product from the list or card view to open its record.
The record displays the product details and provides access to any additional information, documents, and reports you have added.
If the product has several images, use the side arrows to browse them. To enlarge the images, select the expand icon in the top right corner of the main image.
How to create a product
You can only create products from the web app.
Go to Products.
Select Create on the right side of the screen. This button is available in both list and card views.
Complete the product details.
Select Save.
The form includes the following fields:
Model: name that identifies the product.
Description: details that describe the product.
Price: selling price of the product.
Cost: cost of the product to your company.
Maximum discount: maximum discount percentage allowed for the product in a quote or order.
Stock: number of units available when you create the product.
Recommended quantity: number of units recommended to keep in stock.
Product category: classification that uses labels to help identify and filter products.
Current directory: folder or subfolder where the product is organised. You can create folders and subfolders to structure the catalogue at different levels.
After you save, the product appears in the catalogue. A message also prompts you to add images. You can add them immediately or later.
