How to view a role’s permissions and users

Written by Jon Trasobares

Open a role’s details

  1. Open Sage Sales Management Admin.

  2. Select Permissions from the side menu.

  3. Find the role you want to review in the table.

  4. Select the role and click Edit.

A panel opens with two tabs: Permissions and Users.

View the role’s actions

In the Permissions tab, options are grouped by entity or feature.

  1. Find the section you want to review, such as Activities, Accounts, or Campaigns.

  2. Expand the section.

  3. Review the actions and restrictions associated with each permission.

Depending on the section, you will find permissions to create, edit, or delete records, view information, or limit its visibility.

Enabled permissions display a tick. Permissions that are not enabled display a dash and light grey text.

Read each permission’s name and description to understand its effect. Some allow actions, while others set restrictions.

For example, Limit visibility to the hierarchical network restricts the information a user can view.

View descriptions and requirements

Select the information icon next to a permission. The help text explains what it allows and whether it depends on another setting.

For example, the description of Create Campaigns explains that it allows users to add campaigns from the web. It also states that Manage Campaigns must be enabled.

The help text may also indicate whether a permission is enabled by default.

View the role’s users

Select the Users tab to view the people assigned to the role. The number next to the tab’s name shows how many there are.

A user can have several roles assigned. A permission that is not enabled in the role you are viewing may therefore be granted by another role.

Note: If you need to change a permission, contact the Sage Sales Management team.
