How to synchronise a folder

To allow the application to work with your Sage data (for example, from Sage 50 UKI), you’ll need to synchronise your company data.

Synchronisation connects the app with your company’s database by specifying its path, and optionally a username and password if access is protected.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • The database path of your company data.

  • The username and password (only if required).

If your data isn’t protected by credentials, you can leave those fields blank.

Steps to set up company synchronisation

  • You can use a local path, for example: C:\Sage\CompanyData\MyBusiness.

  • Or a network path, for example: \\SERVER\Sage\CompanyData\MyBusiness.

  • Ensure you have read/write permissions for that path.

  • Enter the username and password if required; otherwise, leave the fields empty.

  • When you save, a connection test will run automatically to validate the information provided.

Connection test results

If the connection is successful:

  • The system will confirm that your company data is connected.

  • The app will continue with the setup process.

If the connection fails:

  • An error message will appear indicating that the connection couldn’t be established.

  • Synchronisation will stop until valid credentials are entered.

Common errors and how to fix them

  • Incorrect or missing path: Check that the path is correct and that the folder exists.

  • Network path not accessible: Verify your network connection or server access.

  • Invalid username or password: Double-check your credentials in Sage or contact your administrator.

Summary

To synchronise your company data:

  1. Enter the path to your company data (local or network).

  2. Enter your username and password if required.

  3. Run the connection test.

  4. If the test succeeds, the data will be synchronised; if it fails, correct the information and try again.
