Learn how the Financial Dashboard in Sage 50 Mobile is calculated and what information it displays — your starting point for analysing the key metrics of your business.

This article is intended for users connected to Sage 50 ES through Sage 50 Mobile.

1. What is the Financial Dashboard?

The Financial Dashboard in Sage 50 Mobile is an intelligent control panel designed for Sage 50 users who want a quick and strategic view of their company’s key metrics.
It centralises data from Sage 50 to offer a set of indicators that help you make agile financial and commercial decisions, without having to generate manual reports.

2. What information can you view?

Sage 50 Mobile provides you with a detailed overview of the most relevant financial information about your business.
At present, the Financial Dashboard displays three main groups of indicators:

Commercial activity

  • Commercial profit: Shows the gross profit amount derived from posted sales invoices.

  • Current sales: Reflects the total value of sales invoices issued to customers.

  • Current purchases: Displays the total value of purchase invoices registered from suppliers.

Cash management

  • Pending collections: Total amount of outstanding customer collections, both overdue and upcoming.

  • Pending payments: Total amount of supplier payments pending, both overdue and upcoming.

Rankings

  • Top sales by customer: Customers with the highest sales volume.

  • Top sales by product: Products or services generating the highest sales volume.

  • Top purchases by supplier: Suppliers with the highest purchase volume.

These indicators are calculated based on the data posted in Sage 50 and are updated automatically to provide a real-time view.

3. How are the indicators calculated?

The Financial Dashboard follows a series of common guidelines to ensure consistency in the displayed results.

3.1 Financial information

The data comes directly from the records posted in Sage 50.
Only documents that have been posted or derived from postings are included (sales invoices, purchase invoices, expected collections or payments, etc.).

Examples:

  • Sales and purchase invoices: Obtained from documents posted in their respective modules or recorded directly in accounting.

  • Commercial profit: Based on the gross margin from posted sales invoices.

  • Collections and payments: Derived from the forecasts recorded in accounting.

  • Sales and purchase rankings: Generated from posted sales or purchase invoices.

3.2 Time filters

The Dashboard offers three time-based views for data analysis:

View

Displayed period

Annual

Consolidated data from the latest financial year configured in Sage 50.

Monthly

Consolidated data for the current month.

Weekly

Consolidated data for the current week.

3.3 Tax management

Sage 50 Mobile applies different criteria depending on the nature of the indicator:

  • Sales, purchases or profit indicators → show values excluding taxes (net amounts).
This avoids distortions in profitability analysis, since taxes do not represent real income or expenses.

  • Collections and payments indicators → show values including taxes.
These reflect the total amounts to be received or paid, as they determine the company’s actual liquidity.

3.4 Base currency

All Financial Dashboard values are displayed in the company’s base currency as configured in Sage 50.
This ensures consistency in financial analysis, regardless of the currencies used with customers or suppliers.

3.5 Financial year

The date range of the Dashboard is based on the Financial Year defined in Sage 50.
This ensures that the information is presented in line with the company’s official accounting period (for example, from 1 January to 31 December if it matches the calendar year).

4. Data updates

The Financial Dashboard updates automatically based on the data sent from Sage 50.

Keep in mind that:

  • Data is synchronised periodically with the active company in Sage 50.

  • If you manage several companies, to access the most recent information you must open the desired company and update the data manually.

  • On the mobile app, locally stored data may take up to 15 minutes to refresh after a new synchronisation.
